I owe my climbing career to a fortunate failure. At the age of five, I failed to listen to my gymnastics coach asking me to come down from the wall bars. I was kindly asked to leave, but at the same time got invited to join the first ever children climbing class in Vienna. The coach that asked me to leave her gymnastics class became my climbing coach for the next 20 years. With her help I made my way into the national team, and finally to some World Cup starts.

When the parents of my friend took us climbing with them, I was instantly addicted to it. That was at the age of twelve and since then climbing has been a big part of my life. Either in going climbing and bouldering outdoors, making my first experiences as a competition climber or, later on, as a routesetter.

I got introduced to climbing through some friends of my parents at the age of 12 and fell for it right away. For the following years, climbing was my everyday motivation and was constantly keeping me intrigued by it’s many different facets, be it outdoors with it’s various disciplines, as well as indoors and the analytical occupation with movement.
